Using Globus file transfer service

Globus is a service that enables researchers to transfer, share, access, and compute on data across any system, from edge to supercomputer. Learn how Globus can help you with data management, collaboration, automation, and more. globus.org

At ICM, we have a globus “endpoint” that provides sharing services. This endpoint is located at /network/lustre/iss02/cenir/globus

Ask @Laurent HUGUEVILLE for advice if you need to use this service.

Once a file share (aka. collection) has been created for you by Laurent,

  1. You log into the Globus network at https://app.globus.org/file-manager

  2. You log your local computer as an endpoint on the Globus network using Globus Connect Personal

  3. On https://app.globus.org/file-manager?two_pane=true on each side of the screen,

    1. Select the endpoint where your data is (typically at ICM in our case)

    2. Select your local computer endpoint (where you want to download the data)

  4. Hit “start” in the right direction

DONE!

The https://docs.globus.org/cli/ allows you to batch commands (e.g. transfers) on the network.
